Stirling Wedding Designs will provide you a wedding planner to attend and orchestrate your day as envisioned. <p>We will provide a wedding day itinerary to you and all of your vendors in order to keep everyone on schedule. Stirling Wedding Designs will provide you service for the day of the wedding (arriving two hours before the ceremony and leaving the reception by 11:00pm). <p>Flowers bring colour, texture and fragrance to your celebration, but once our creative juices begin to flow – we may quickly realize that flowers can eat up a substantial part of our wedding budget.  Here are some helpful tips on how to make smart choices with your bloom selections to ensure that your pennies will go that much further.</p>
<p><em>The Bridal Bouquet.</em>  Don’t be tempted to be frugal on the bridal bouquet.  As the center of attention, the bride and her bouquet are the feature in nearly 90% of all photographs taken on the wedding day.  However, there are some general rules that you may want to keep in mind when making your selection.  Time costs money, so consider a simple handtied bouquet as opposed to a more time-consuming wired bouquet.  Always stick with seasonal flowers, which are generally better in quality and less expensive compared to imports.  If your favourite flower happens to be an orchid, use it in the bridal bouquet and groom’s boutonniere.  You will be happy to have its presence surrounding you all day; however you can use more affordable blooms in other bouquets and arrangements.</p>
<p><em>Bridesmaids’ Bouquets</em>.  Avoid the use of expensive flowers in these arrangements, especially if you have a larger number of bridesmaids, as costs can quickly add up.  Even though your bridesmaids should carry a bouquet that is similar to your own, there are always ways of being mindful of costs and coordinating blooms just the same.  You may consider making their bouquets smaller in size to yours, as the bridal bouquet should always be the focal piece.  If you have selected a more expensive bloom for the bridal bouquet, ensure its speciality and select a less expensive choice but keep the colours similar.  This way the blooms selected for your bridal party will coordinate in colour, but keep costs down.</p>
<p>Try to bear in mind that young children will always be unpredictable, and could likely break, lose or squash fresh blooms before you hear the ‘wedding march’ play.  Little ones don’t naturally hold bouquets the right way up either, so ask your florist for posies on ribbons or baskets filled with petals or flowers.  These can be carried like a purse or bag, or better yet to keep the young one’s amused, select a flower that can be decorated like a fairy wand.<span id="more-1332"></span></p>
<p><em>Boutonnieres and Corsages.</em>  Your groom’s flower should be striking and should always compliment the blooms in the bridal bouquet.  Other boutonnieres can be made with less expensive flowers and created smaller to compliment the selection made for your special man.  Don’t go mad with the list of who should wear one either.  Special guests such as parents and grandparents are always a good idea; also consider guests that may be performing special roles such as someone performing a reading at your ceremony or ushers escorting your guests’ to their seats.</p>
<p><em>Ceremony Flowers</em>.  Although your ceremony is very significant to the wedding day, it is most often separate from your reception venue.  Consider selecting arrangements that may be transferred by your Florist from your ceremony site to the reception.  Selecting flowers that will compliment your blooms and style selections that you have incorporated into your centerpieces will create a cohesive look and will tie in your ceremony arrangements beautifully.  Your florist should be able to suggest the best vantage spots to display a few bold arrangements – beside the altar, on the register table, or near a window that will be flooded with light.</p>
<p><em>The Reception.</em>  Don’t try to cover every single corner of your reception.  Consider dramatic arrangements inside the lobby area of your reception.  This is always the first impression we give our guests as they enter the venue.  Lobby tables also double as a set-up for late night foods stations or dessert table displays.  Therefore your arrangements will certainly be put to good use throughout your entire evening!</p>
<p>When it comes to table centerpieces, remember that selecting large blooms such as hydrangea are a fantastic use of a moderately priced flower that fills up maximum surface area in your arrangement.  These are a very versatile flower that can be mixed with many other blooms from roses, tulips, gerbera to dahlias.  The hydrangea is available is a wide variety of colours to coordinate with any wedding style and colour theme.</p>
<p>Ask your florist which blooms are in season at the time of your wedding.  Re-use your bridesmaids’ bouquets as table displays on your cake table to avoid spending extra money on adding fresh flowers to your cake.  For more impact, stick to a few larger, dramatic arrangements rather than many smaller pieces throughout the venue.  Use flowers that are locally grown and not imported from other countries, possibly adding to the overall expense of each bloom.  Use blocks of colour and cut down on the number of different types of flowers that you use throughout the day.</p>
<p>Being mindful of a few important aspects of wedding planning will ensure that your wedding day will be filled with a beautiful display of flowers without spending a fortune.  Know your style; be realistic and recognize if your ideas are grander than your budget.  Set your budget; don’t assume your budget is unlimited when gathering information from a Florist.  Ensure that you’re upfront and honest and share your budget with the Florist before beginning a consult, this way the professional will keep you on track with the selection of your wedding blooms.  Decide what’s important to you; understanding that the wedding ceremony only encompasses less than one hour of the entire wedding day could help you focus the majority of your flower budget on the reception, where you and your guests will be spending most of your time.  Be willing to compromise; if your florist suggests alternative flowers or designs to help you save your money, it’s important to consider their ideas.  Lastly, manage your expectations; make your selections carefully when doing your overall planning.  The size and theme of your wedding will quickly dictate your costs.  Selecting a large bridal party or having a large guest list will require more flowers and centerpieces, so consider that these details will impact your overall floral budget as well.</p>

<p>In a large room I always advise Brides to focus on a few tall and impressive arrangements that will compliment the table centerpieces and create ‘wow’ factor.  Try to coordinate the use of blooms already selected from the arrangements on the guest tables.  These large pieces can be placed behind the head table to create a dramatic backdrop for the Bride &amp; Groom, flanked on either side of the entranceway; creating a beautiful display when the newly married couple make their grand entrance or perhaps they can also be placed in the center of the room as an unusual focal point.</p>

<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">No matter where your location; from a quaint chapel on a hillside to a grand cathedral in the city, there are many wonderful places to hold a wedding ceremony.  Regardless of the site, a few well-chosen flowers will add to the sense of occasion and increase pleasure throughout the day.  Many locations are magnificent within themselves and benefit most from a very simplistic approach to flowers and décor.  A small country chapel, for example, is fittingly embellished with a few arrangements full of scented organically styled flowers, that ‘straight from the garden look’.  A building with soaring ceilings is best adorned with one or two major displays, rather than lots of smaller arrangements spread throughout the space, this tends to get lost in the larger surroundings.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The flower selections that you make for your ceremony will set the tone for your entire day, so remember to be mindful also of the location at which your reception is to take place.  Flowers from your ceremony can always be transferred from the ceremony and strategically placed within the reception venue, so as not to have them go to waste.  This is a great way to stretch your wedding budget and ensure that all your floral purchases are being put to good use.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Call on flowers that will help set the scene for your celebration.  These floral elements should be supporting characters to the floral stars of your wedding day – the bridal bouquet and centerpieces.  Tie all of the floral pieces together by incorporating either a similar use of specific flowers or a coordinating choice of colour concepts throughout each of your selections.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">One very important factor to consider before placing any arrangements is to consult the advice of your officiant or coordinator of your place of worship before deciding upon placement of flowers and the extent of your décor for the ceremony.  Depending upon the location, there could be specific guidelines that will need to be followed.  Your wedding florist should always be up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding the location of your ceremony, and will be able to incorporate your own personal style, all the while keeping in mind the rules and regulations of your chapel, church or venue.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Pew decorations are small fitting treasures that invite your guests to their seats and the wedding party up the aisle during the processional.  Pew-end decorations range from simple bows to a few sprigs of greenery to miniature bouquets to lavish floral arrangements and luscious draping of fabrics.  Keep in mind that you don’t have to adorn every single row or pew with a decoration, choosing to enhance every second or third pew will easily direction the eye to the altar.<span id="more-1311"></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">When it comes time to sign the register, the photographer is always close at hand to capture that special moment of the ceremony, remember that placement of the bridal bouquet is always key to ensure that each photograph taken incorporates a beautiful use of colour and texture.</span></p>
